What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?

Hmm. This is a tough one, since I’m not a trend forecaster! But I imagine that as we emerge from the pandemic, rather than “back” to how things were, we’ll see a blend of live/virtual, a permanent hybrid approach to events. AND I believe there’s going to be a premium on live anythings–meaning, those who think they can pop a course into a can and sell it may find that harder to do successfully. I feel a move toward live, dynamic events as a way to drive business, since DIY, pre-recorded stuff that I do “on my own” won’t be as appealing as doing things with others — not a surprise coming out a long slog of loneliness.

What is one tip that you would give when it comes to digital marketing?

Remember that you’re not talking “about” you’re talking TO. Anyone can copy/paste marketing language or sales language. But the people who win out and maintain engagement will be those who master both storytelling and emotional connection.

What are the major challenges that you (and/or other advertisers) face today?

I’m sure everyone says this: the crowded marketplace and everyone fighting for attention. Everyone claiming to be different. In the end, we listen to who we like, period.
