Summer, summer vacations, breaks, and fun is on many individuals minds as school is wrapping up if school is not already out where you are. Routines, schedules and traffic patterns are changing and that often means things are forgotten. The experts we spoke with this week have somethings every marketer should keep in mind.
Paige Arnof-Fenn from Mavens & Moguls says, “You don’t exist.” If you are not online then you do not exist. As a marketer, it is crucial for you to make sure you have your online presence in order and your client’s too.
Megan Shields from ChimeHouse Media gives her perspective. Specifically, how you think about marketing is the basis for success. “Marketing is a long-game.” Shields wants to make sure every marketer realizes there is not a switch that can be flipped to bring success.
According to Joel Cox from Strategus, marketers need to make some adjustments. “Marketers, today, are not upholding their end of the bargain” in Cox’s mind. He elaborates with examples of how consumers have been treated poorly. “Consumers have done everything they can to run from advertising,” says Cox. With future opportunities on the horizon, He hopes marketers will remember to provide a better advertising experience to their consumers.
For Alison Rodden from The Oddball Copywriter, the voice that a marketer writes with is something to keep top of mind. “It’s a mistake,” says Rodden. Writing with the wrong voice, even the voice of the client, and not writing with the voice of the customer is commonly forgotten.
Having gone through that list of reminders, strategy is key for Marlon Medina from Golden Medina Services. The value of a local agency should not be overlooked. “Local agents can give you best practices, and guide you,…” Medina reiterates the reasons local experts should be sought out and not forgotten.
