What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?

The biggest change in marketing I see in the next two years is the continued use of automation and data.

We have so much data available that we are just getting to the point of knowing what to do with it. I’m a big believer in making data-driven decisions because that helps take the emotion and bias from our decisions.

What is one tip that you would give when it comes to digital marketing?

One tip I would give with digital marketing is to really pay attention to the algorithms and trends. For example on LinkedIn, the algorithm was really pushing short videos a few years ago. Now, we are seeing success with just posting text.

It’s a constant game of cat and mouse to see what is working, what isn’t working, and what’s coming.

What are the major challenges that you (and/or other advertisers) face today?

Advertisers are seeing a challenge in the collection of third-party data. With data privacy becoming a big trend, it’s vital to focus on your first-party data to build the best audiences for your advertisements.

Information / content overload is a big challenge as well. With so many choices, it’s hard to know where to focus your time and resources to maximize ROI.

The overload of content makes it difficult to know where to focus your time and energy. Using your business goals to help determine which platforms can help you reach those goals is a great way to overcome that challenge.

What are the most effective advertising tactics and/or media for your company?

Facebook and Google on the PPC side with Indeed and ZipRecruiter on the job board side
