What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?

Story driven Content Visualization: It was only five years ago when video (TikTok, Reels, YouTube) and voice (Podcasting, Search) were rarely if ever utilized as a marketing method. These two mediums were not nearly as widely used, or even considered as an impactful primary content medium as they are today. They will only become more necessary as a method for communicating a brand’s story to better communicate with future consumers and clients.

What is the advantage to working with an outside media buyer as opposed to having just an internal marketing director?

In my professional experiences, both in hiring for these positions, or building teams, and being an internal client side expert, there are pros and cons to whether or not a company decides to bring this specific professional in-house or outsource.

Just take the company that does not have an internal marketing lead currently as an example – they generally have no concept as to where to begin (these are usually my best clients) they should consult with an expert to assist them in architecting an internal marketing structure; establish organizational governance, define process and assist in recruiting the people required.

Having that outside consultant to assist in all this provides the necessary intel and understanding as to which expert to bring internally. This saves both time and money, and avoids sorting through dozens of unqualified applicants, lacking specific marketing expertise & skills, while avoiding the wrong type of professional(s) to staff internally.

How does a media buyer stay on top of trends with media placement?

– Running testing campaigns; learning new platforms, and media placements
– Attending larger conferences; speaking with industry experts
