What nonprofit do you feel makes the greatest impact in our community?
I consider the world our community and I’ve been a supporter of women entrepreneurs all over the world through Kiva for years.
What volunteer experience has impacted you the most?
Hard call. This goes back to my New York days, There are a couple. But, leading the public speaking committee for Boston-NYAids Ride and speaking at nearly 30 fund-raising parties for riders still makes me feel good.
What’s your favorite way to get involved in the community?
I’m a Poll Inspector here in SF. That means I lead a team at a precinct on election days. WE meet by 6am, set up the poll, help people vote, break everything down and run reports after the polls close at 8pm. It’s a long day. But, I do it in honor of my mother who was a Democratic County Chairwoman back in the 60s and 70s. And, I do it because voting is a privilege and a responsibility, the critical element of democracy in action.
