What is the biggest change in the advertising industry that you see coming in the next 2 years?
More inclusion in creative. Developing ad content currently is a pain when you’re trying to mass market. We do a lot of medical content and imagery and video featuring people of color is still exceptionally low ratioed. That’s starting to shift away and it’ll be a good change in the industry.
I will also say, since we only work with public companies, that more regulations in the marketing of public securities (stocks, crypto, and NFTs) is definitely on the way. It’s a madhouse at the moment and people are getting scammed on a daily basis.
How is the trend towards streaming television (CTV) impacting your advertising strategies?
N/A, all our clients are publicly-traded securities, specifically small/micro-caps. We’re looking into being ad-partners with Disney+/HULU, but deemed it irrelevant when the majority of our audience is on Twitter, StockTwits, IHub, or their various brokerage apps.
What’s your biggest challenge with attracting and hiring talent in the past 2 years?
Working capital to hirer the skill-level we need. We’re very much still a start up and have been in business (officially) for about 1.5 years. Our current team is amazing, but we’re actively looking to recruit specialized skillsets to the team. The issue is building the revenues up while everyone is wearing multiple hats with creative, sales, etc. So we’ll get there in time, but start-up culture tends to be messy. A fun messy, but still messy.
