What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?
Advertisers will have to get better at the creative side of marketing and more sophisticated. Marketing was way easier years ago, simple direct response ads would work better and translate to ROI. Now, with all of the competition, it’s harder then ever to stand out, and get past consumer skepticism. Consumers are smarter as well. I see it becoming less about “hacks” and technology, and more about what advertising is really about – human connection and understanding your customer! Side note, it’ll be interesting to see how soon Web 3 affects the regular digital world, and also if Facebook continues to lose popularity due to newer platforms like Tik-Tok
What is something in your career that you learned from by making a mistake?
With marketing, it’s sometimes important to shut-off and forget about all the newest trends and shiny objects, and just laser focus on a few strategies. I’ve made the mistake of trying to do too much with marketing, because it’s more exciting, where the boring option of just doing more of what was already working would have been better for the business
