What nonprofit do you feel makes the greatest impact in our community?
There are so many nonprofits that make a huge impact. One that I love is St. Jude. I’ve said this many times before – I wish they’d go out of business already! It is my hope that within the next generation, childhood cancer will be a thing of the past.
What volunteer experience has impacted you the most?
I grew up seeing my parents volunteer in several organizations. As a result, I learned the value of giving back and volunteer with many organizations and work with many nonprofits helping them find new donors and volunteers.
What’s your favorite way to get involved in the community?
I love getting involved and giving of my time and knowledge.
Many times, organizations get funds from people but they are limited in their know-how to act on some of what they need to do for their mission.
They also need people to simply “do” whatever it is that needs to be done. So knowledge and time are extremely important to organizations of all sizes.
Getting involved and pitching in wherever I can – from manning a booth at a street fair to helping to drive the organization forward with out-of-the-box thinking, these are all ways I have gotten involved with some of the organizations I am connected and will continue to do so for as long as I am gifted to.
