What is your company Elevator pitch when talking about your company?

Our focus is on growing your business. Smart, customized online marketing is how we get there.

What excites you the most about your industry?

Analytics and attribution – having started in traditional marketing media (print, television, radio), the ability to trace a customer journey from first contact through to sale with proper campaign attribution takes out much of the guesswork about how successful marketing efforts are, and how much our clients are earning from those efforts.

How do you go about making difficult leadership decisions, both big and small?

I start with the knowledge that I can’t possibly make every decision correctly, or that every decision will give me the result I hope for. And I combine that with the firm belief that even an undesirable result provides a return in the form of education: we may have just learned what *doesn’t* work. I worry less about the cost of incorrect decisions than the cost of not making a decision at all.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to enhance their leadership skills?

Realize that very few (if any) of your employees will have the same emotional investment in their work that you do, and that’s okay. So give your people every reason to enjoy their jobs. Your workplace will be a lot more fun and the quality of the output will be much better.

Normalize making mistakes as part of the process. People who are afraid to make mistakes stagnate, and that’s not good for anyone.

What is the biggest challenge you think you or your organization is going to face in the upcoming year?

As always, balancing growth with staffing needs. The catch-22 of needing more clients to support more staff, and needing more staff to support more clients.
