What is your company Elevator pitch when talking about your company?

Stoplight is a collaborative platform that allows developers to easily design and build APIs, which are the connective tissue of technology today. The Stoplight platform enables companies to make the most out of digital transformation initiatives by taking full advantage of the power of integration to be more efficient, more productive and innovate faster.

What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?

Marketers need to be more creative than ever in reaching their target audiences. Of course, we’ll continue to see the push for marketers to meet consumers where they’re at — including social media, through influencers, and community relations in whatever universe is next. APIs can actually be the tool that allows marketers to integrate with these mediums and provide new opportunities. For our audience, developers, deeply (and authentically) embedding ourselves into their communities and being of service to them through education and resources is essential for credibility and success.

What is one tip that you would give when it comes to digital marketing?

Automate where you can. Taking the human aspect out of some marketing and sales functions can actually increase value for the consumer and allows your marketing team to focus on the aspects of marketing that do need that human touch. At this point, no tech can replace the creativity and human relations but we can all benefit from the helping hand.

What is the main pain point that you solve for your customers?

We create a better experience for developers and the users of the tech they build by making the APIs faster and easier to design and build. Developers can create and share prototypes of APIs for mocking and previews built into the platform. They are also able to better document the APIs, which is essential for adoption. Growing companies often have multiple collaborators for any given API and need to manage change as new talent joins projects. Eventually, we see API programs are standardized across an organization for more consistency, security and savings.

What excites you the most about your industry?
