Each week on “Advertising Champions,” our host talks to advertising experts across the country. This week our host speaks with Lori Zoss Kraska from Growth Owl, LLC, Mike Reardon from EDA Contractors, and Sequoyah Glenn from 924 CoOperative.
What is one tip that you would give when it comes to advertising?
Lori: As I work with mainly non profits and other purpose driven organizations, my biggest tip for them is brevity in messaging that makes a quick but impactful connection to the user to want to learn more
Mike: Be smart and make sure that you truly know who your customers are and where you can find them. You may be creating interesting content, but if you are serving the wrong person with your paid ads, you are wasting your time and money.
Sequoyah: Stay up to date with your customers, competitors, the economy, and emerging technology.
What are the major challenges that you (and/or other advertisers) face today?
Lori: ROI. Myriad of options available in the marketplace
Mike: While we have more avenues than ever to get the word out, there is such a high volume of ads that people are served with each day. This makes it difficult to actually get through to potential customers and emphasizes the need for a strong advertising strategy to drive new business. At the same time, it is imperative to balance that with regular efforts to engage with existing leads/customers.
Sequoyah: It’s hard to keep up sometimes, especially for boutique agencies. You have to stay up to date or align yourself with other experts in the business to be competitive (and keep your costs low!).
