What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?
The biggest change in marketing will be a continuation of the profound shift toward digital authenticity, personal branding, and health/wellness in the digital landscape. Considering the massive number of people affected by the pandemic and the increase in remote work, it’s clear that the focus and attention of marketing will be framed to reflect this messaging of collective healing, while also catering to the younger, more digitally in-tuned generation that is currently entering the workforce.
Are their any trade organizations or groups that you belong to?
I am a member of the National Small Business Association Leadership Council, the Howard County Chamber of Commerce, the Veterans Business Network, and the Re4ormed Military networking community.
What is the advantage to working with an outside media buyer as opposed to having just an internal marketing director?
The inherent advantage is a 3rd party perspective from outside of the organization. This naturally eliminates biases and subtle tendencies that may be programmed within a company’s culture.
What is one tip that you would give when it comes to media planning?
My tip is to constantly evaluate and prepare to adjust the trajectory of whatever previous plan may currently be in place. Ideally, a regular system of market research and feedback can be paired with and support any media planning efforts.
How does a media buyer stay on top of trends with media placement?
Buyers can make informed decisions by first having a tested and reliable marketing approach, a storybrand or brand voice narrative, a consist platform to track metrics, and a system in place to make appropriate adjustments.
